What happened
Omar Ahmad al-Samei died on 16 November 2020, according to a Hospital 48 report date quoted by Yemen Shabab Net in December 2022. Local sources said his family continued paying money requested by a detention supervisor as living expenses without being allowed contact.
The sources said his mother eventually found his body in Sanaa and attributed his death to torture. He was an al-Fath Brigade soldier captured in Kitaf in 2019. This record concerns treatment in custody and concealment of his fate, not battlefield capture itself.
